Congratulations

Big congratulations to Well all-star volunteer Debbie Wooldridge for scoring a Most Valuable Player Award at the Toronto Pride Volunteer Appreciation Party in August.  We don’t know how she fits it all in, but she sure was busy keeping things together in Toronto during Pride weekend and we’re glad to see that TP knows what we know: when Debbie’s on the job the job gets done right.  Congrats Debbie!

Opportunities

• The Women’s Centre is offering a 10 week Court Support Volunteer Program to train volunteers to assist and accompany women to family and criminal court, lawyers’ appointments and other legal meetings. Training starts Oct 6. Contact Jennifer at 905-522-0127 x201 or download an application here.
• HCCI’s Victim Advocacy Network is holding a kick-off meeting on Sept 15th from 5pm to 7pm.  Contact HCCI at 905-667-7502 for more information.
• Rainbow Health Ontario has posted a position for Community Outreach Worker (PT) in the LHIN 6 (Mississauga/Halton).  Look in the What’s New section of RHO’s website for more details.
• Several job postings have appeared through the Rainbow Health Network (RHN) email list in the past month, including:
  • Part Time LGBTQ Counselor with Central Toronto Youth Services
  • Casual Front Desk Position with The 519 Church Street Community Centre
  • Facilitator for Trans Men Considering Pregnancy Workshop with Sherbourne Health Centre

• Oct – The Lesbian and Bisexual Women Peer Support Group will end its summer break in early October – watch the website for details

Check the website for locations – most groups do not meet at The Well office.
