Job Title: Research Assistant (Trainee)

No experience necessary. Part-time.
February 2013 to April 2013 (with possibility of renewal).
3 to 5 hours per week at $24/hr.

Are you knowledgeable and involved in Hamilton’s trans communities? Are you interested in learning more about the research process?

 The Well, the LGBTQ Community Wellness Centre of Hamilton, is undertaking a trans needs assessment and is hiring a part time Research Assistant Trainee on a short term contract, from February 2013 till the end of April, 2013, with possibility of renewal depending on funding. Work may include evenings and weekends.

Training Will Include: assisting with an environmental scan of health and social services in Hamilton, outreach, interviewing, transcription, data analysis, report writing, information dissemination, public speaking and minute-taking at Advisory Committee meetings.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with trans communities in Hamilton and with social and health services within the city
  • Lived experience valued on par with education
  • Comfortable using email, word, excel and powerpoint
  • Knowledge of a language other than English an asset

Work Environment: The work environment is office-based with travel in the community. The LGBTQ Community Wellness Centre in Hamilton is committed to creating an environment that is inclusive and diverse.
